Privacy notice

Short version: we run a static website with no accounts, no advertising trackers and no newsletter. The only personal data that can reach us is what you type into the review form or an email.

What we collect

Nothing automatically beyond what any web server records to serve a page: the request itself, the browser and operating system reported by your device, the referring page and a truncated network address. Those logs exist to keep the site up and to spot abuse, and they are not used to build a profile of you.

If you submit the review form, the fields you fill in are the data you are giving us: a display name, an email address, an optional city and state, a rating and your review text. If you email the desk, we hold the email.

What we do with it

A submitted review is read by a person to decide whether it is genuine and publishable. If it is published, the display name, optional location, rating and review text appear on the site. Your email address is never published and never sold, rented or shared with a manufacturer. We may use it once to ask you a question about your submission.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no third party analytics or advertising pixel. One piece of browser storage is used for a single purpose: remembering that you dismissed the price bar at the bottom of the screen, so it stays dismissed for the rest of your visit. It clears when you close the tab and it identifies nothing about you.

Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to that service to fetch the font files, and that request is subject to Google's own privacy terms.

Affiliate links and what happens when you click one

Price links leave this site for the manufacturer's store. That click is recorded by the affiliate network the merchant uses, typically with a cookie set in your browser so the merchant can attribute an order to us. We receive an aggregate report of orders and commissions. We do not receive your name, your address, your card details or any other identifying information about your purchase, and we have no access to the merchant's systems. Once you are on their site, their privacy policy governs, not ours.

Data retention and your rights

Submitted reviews and correspondence are kept while the article they relate to is live. Server logs are kept briefly for security purposes. Write to editor@boosterxtreviews.com if you want a review you submitted removed, a copy of what we hold about you, or a correction, and say clearly what you are asking for. We will action it promptly. Residents of jurisdictions with statutory data rights, including California and the European Economic Area, may exercise those rights through the same address.

Children

This site is written for adults and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
